VILLAGE TIDY on Sat 18th April:-
What a brilliant turn out ! 20 of you were prepared to give up your time on what turned out to be a beautiful bright and sunny morning. In trying to sort out appropriatly sized task forces, we simply didn't really have enough village to share amongst you all! ...........so we had to send a few of you back home, for which we can only apologise. Those who got "tasked" all did a splendid job; Some were dropped off at furthest points, and full sacks were left on the routes to be picked up succesfully, with others bringing them to the Black Swan's car park, (thanks for your co-operation Gill).
Some off the more energetic folks even set-to with shovels and wheelbarrows to clear overgrown kerb lines and verges, here's proof, look:-
All the rubbish was taken off to the Rotherwas tip next morning, as I (for one at least), needed to recover from the lunchtime drinks........well it would have been rude not to wouldn't it.....)
Thank you so much to all involved, a most enjoyable and rewarding morning in good company - a great result all round!
NEW BUS SERVICE “413” TO HEREFORD
The efforts of the many people who have been lobbying Herefordshire Council, local councillors and our MP about the lack of buses to Hereford since the withdrawal of through services on the 412 route last August have been partially rewarded with the introduction of a new through Service 413 which began on 23rd February.
However, this is only an experimental service until September and its survival after then will depend on usage so the message is clear:
USE IT OR LOSE IT !!
The new 413 bus runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Broad Oak (9.30) via Garway (9.33), Orcop (9.54), Little Birch Castle Inn (10.08), Much Dewchurch (10.17) and Kivernoll Kilpeck Turn (10.19), then via Kilpeck and Belmont arriving in Hereford by 11.00. The return service departs from the Country Bus Station (1.30pm from Stand 11), picking up in Broad Street at 1.34pm.
